Take out your lens (if it isn't already) and discard it (if it's a soft lens). Definitely change the solution in your lens case, and consider changing the case, too. You don't want anything exposed to the infection lingering around.

Flush your eye with clean water, and keep your face clean.

The infection will work itself out in a couple of days to a week. Stay out of lenses for at least a week, or it will most likely continue or return.

Be especially careful to not rub your eye and transfer the infection to the other eye. Wash your hands often.

If there isn't marked improvement in a couple of days, see the doctor. Since you are pretty certain that your conjunctivitis is from lens wear, it's most likely the bacterial type so an antibiotic eye drop could be prescribed.

You now know that you're susceptible to eye infections. If you're wearing your lenses overnight, stop, even if it's prescribed that you may. Occasionally? Maybe. But don't tempt fate.

It might not be an infection. Dont wear the contacts, wear your glasses until the redness is going away. Go to any pharmacy and buy an Eye wash kit. It is a rinse with a little cup that you wash your eye with (without contacts on). And buy preservative eye drops to help make your eye feel better. Or you can also ask the pharmacist for advice on what to use on your eyes.
Throw out those contacts that you were wearing when you eye started to get irritated. If your eye hurts or has redness for more than 2 days you should probably call your EYE doctor for a check up.

you do need to see a doctor, but for now do not wear your contacts and if they are disposables, you need to throw that pair away. I had a similar thing and had to be treated with prescription eye drops, but definitely do not wear your contacts for now, use a regular eye drop with your contacts out, and try not to scratch/rub your eyes because it will make it worse
