my family didnt have dental insurance when I got my braces. We talked to the orthodontist and they had a discount thing that they did for people without insurance. Go to a couple different doctors for a preview appointment where they look at your teeth and give you a price, see what they can do for you.

If you mean state or federal help by "dental card" , the answer is no, I have not seen one state provide orthodontics the only exception is if you have a cleft palate, then it is limited and only if needed. Sorry, I needed braces too and had to wait until I got a job with dental including orthodontics , then I saved for the down payment and got them in my mid 20's, they can do braces at any age. Just take good care of them because they will not put them on if you have cavities that are not filled.
